On August 31, 2009 I published my first post on The Hops Honey, and this little beer-writing adventure began! One of the things I was hoping for initially—in addition to encouraging more gals to embrace craft beer—was simply to connect with other beer lovers out there, as I was starting my own fall down the rabbit hole of craft beer-worship 
While I’ve met a gazillion amazing people through this adventure, THIS might be one of the coolest & most unexpected things to have come of it :)
In January of 2010 I wrote a post called Homebrewing with Tony, about a friend from back when I lived in CT, and how I went by his house to sample some of the beers that he and his cousin had been homebrewing. At the time, they’d been working hard on the homebrew for about three years, and were “fully dedicated to opening a brewery in the next few years.”
Friends, beer lovers, countrymen… I am BEYOND thrilled to tell you that I’m headed up to CT this weekend for the official launch party for Back East Brewing!!!
They had a soft opening back in July, and I’ve already been lucky enough to try some of their beers… as my friend Matt picked up a few growlers to bring with us when we went camping a few weekends ago!
Anyway, this is just a preview… so check back next week for a wrap-up of my trip to Back East Brewing’s official launch party this Saturday! And hey, if you’re around, you should definitely swing by!!
